If mess+noise, Wireless Bollinger, and Cyclic Defrost are considered blogs, surely inthemix, FasterLouder, and Resident Advisor are too?

    Stef 02.05.09 at 9:19 am

    Wooo! Hyperbole!

    Agnes 02.05.09 at 11:06 am

    Dan 02.05.09 at 12:00 pm

My 2006 list was really needing an update. As your list shows, there’s been lots of good new ones since then.

    Stu 02.05.09 at 12:11 pm

Thanks Nick, interesting to see who makes the grade and I’m sure everyone will have their own opinions as to the rankings. My site, Fat Planet, went into haitus towards the end of 2008 and I’m no longer posting there. I have a new blog, Discontent, that picks up where FP left off, but strays into different territories: http://www.discontentblog.com.

    Cheers

Yep, suggest check out TheMusicBlogs.com.au! :-)

    Philippe 02.06.09 at 11:18 am

Hey guys - nice list. Some good talent there and will be adding alot of those ones that I haven’t heard about to the good ‘ol RSS feeder
I contribute to 2 blogs based in Oz.
My own is Luckybuyster (http://luckybuster.wordpress.com/)(, but really that one is on the backburner at the moment while I sort out what direction I want to take with it.
The one I’ve been focusing on at the moment is nickjamvendetta - (http://nickjam.blogspot.com/) which is a blog run by a few guys and girls from Melbourne & Syd.
I have no idea if the above need to have our ranking calculated - cause we’re kinda fairly newish blogs on the block i think compared to the above but if you want to ahead

Laurel Papworth 02.07.09 at 2:26 pm

howdy, not sure why communities with forums (many to many) are listed as “blogs” (one/few to many) :) but in that case, how about MySongCast? Connecting bands with venues with fans. Cheers Laurel (disclaimer: client relationship)

    Matt H 02.07.09 at 4:52 pm

I don’t think I calculated the ratings of the above two - I just trawled through blogrolls and worked on the ones that kept popping up and seemed relevant. There’ll be heaps I missed purely because I couldn’t find them so definitely post here and we’ll work on them eventually.
Also, try and build relationships with other blogs and get on their blogroll because that’s the best way people can find you and boost your ratings.

    Thanks everyone for the feedback.

I should have left Polaroids of Androids out of it. Same with Mess and Noise.

That would have brought http://joe.hardy.id.au/ and Get Big, Little Kid into spots 24 and 25.

Fat Planet too needs to come down. Thanks Stu for the heads up.

Wireless Bollinger and Cyclic Defrost are the other ones on the border of being kept off the list.

@Laurel Including MySongcast in this list would justify including MySpace. They are an awesome company though.

    Next time I will include: http://luckybuster.wordpress.com/ - http://nickjam.blogspot.com/ - http://1songday.blogspot.com/ in the list.

@jyesmith Sorry mate, I should have added TheMusicBlogs.com.au - it will definitely be included in the next iteration - you should get yourself on a few more blogrolls to increase visibility.

The next list will be a little better and a little more robust.

Aside from that, I just enjoy good music blogs so thanks to everyone on the list for doing your bit.

    Nick
