Living The Dream

In ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’, it says:

“financial intelligence is a synergy of accounting, investing, marketing and law. Combine those four technical skills and making money with money is easier.”

This is not strictly true.

Rihanna’s ‘Umbrella’ sold enough copies to make the man who wrote the original financially free for life.  That man - Mr Terius Youngdell Nash - also known as ‘The Dream‘ has a number of other of million-plus sellers.

J.  Holiday’s ‘Bed’:

His own song ‘Falsetto’:

And ‘Shawty Is A Ten’:

He who has the gold makes the rules.

The Dream combined a drumbeat ripped from Garage Band’s Vintage Funk Kit 03 and a nonsensical vocal that stuck in people’s minds and made more money than he needed to make money with money.

In this instance, Shawty is a £10.3 million cow.

Nice one. I suppose it’s a good thing artists aren’t just in it for the money. Would have been a terrible shame if The Dream had stopped at “Falsetto”. Well done recognising a brilliant song and the person behind it.

That must mean there is hope for Hirst yet.
